When working out to get in shape or keep in shape, what you put into your body is just as important as what you do with your body while working out. There are times of the day when proper nutrition is critical to your workout. One of these times is during the one-hour window after you have just completed a workout.
In a perfect world, everyone would always have a P90X Results and Recovery drink available when they have just finished a workout. This drink provides the optimum nutritional ratio of protein and carbohydrates to fuel your muscles after a hard workout. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world, and sometimes a person does not always have access to what is best for them. In those cases, the second-best thing to drink after a strenuous workout is a glass of chocolate milk. You heard it right; that beverage you loved as a child and begged your mother to buy at the grocery store is actually good for you.
Chocolate milk has a good balance of protein and carbohydrates to help your muscles recover after a strenuous workout. The protein helps to rebuild the muscles, while the small amount of sugar helps to restore muscle glycogen. A glass of chocolate milk can contain approximately nine grams of muscle-building protein, 30 grams of glycogen-restoring carbohydrates and minimal fat. At right around 200 calories, it will not add too many calories for anyone who is on a fat-loss diet. Best of all, many love the taste of chocolate milk. Be sure to try to drink low fat or non-fat chocolate milk, because the saturated fat in whole milk is not very healthy.
You should drink a P90X Results and Recovery beverage after every workout to replenish your muscles' glycogen stores and to provide the proper amount of protein for fast muscle-recovery. Many are loyal to Results and Recovery formula for its superior muscle-building benefits and its great orange taste. It also includes essential vitamins and antioxidants to aid in reducing muscle soreness and helping your muscles to repair and grow. On occasion, though, this may not be available. In that case, the next best thing to drink may be right in your refrigerator.
